‘Prinsjesdag?’ Don’t you mean Kingsday?
Most international students studying in the Netherlands will have heard of Kingsday. That one day a year when most of the Netherlands dresses up in orange clothes and celebrates the King’s (or Queen’s) birthday by partying in the streets. But Little Prince Day? No, that’s less well known.
To help prepare international students for ‘Prinsjesdag’ and the start of the Dutch political year, Leiden University is organising an exclusive event om Sunday the 17th of September. You get a crash course on Dutch politics and can aks all their questions to a guide. The guide then takes you on a walking tour along several royal sites in The Hague, such as the King’s Office and Noordeinde Palace.
By the end of the program, you are fully informed and ready to experience ‘Prinsjesdag’ on Tuesday!
