Preparing for fieldwork can be intense and covers many different aspects. The main focus of this research meeting is on data management aspects in the planning stage of data collection abroad, so what to do and prepare at home before you leave. We will talk about different research scenario’s and then look more detailed at: preparation, data storage, data collection & processing as well as data transfer & sharing. All participants are invited to share lessons learned from earlier fieldwork experiences, literature or research contacts. This meeting goes further than DMP-writing and looks into the practical details that should reduce data- and ICT-related trouble during fieldwork and result in well organized and documented datasets.
