New technologies are embraced by some and viewed with suspicion by others. They can offer a solution to certain problems, but can create new ones too. For how should all the data that is collected be handled? Who can view this data and what does this mean for privacy? These questions also arose recently after scanners (people counters) were hung up in university buildings.

These questions and many more will be discussed at the conference Technology and privacy: trust or mistrust? Various experts from Leiden University will speak about new technology and privacy, and in a panel discussion, the panelists will discuss different aspects of new technologies with one another and the audience.

The conference will be held online and is open to all. The working language will be English. Follow the conference on this webpage at 13:00 on 2 February.
