Leiden Study System
Leiden University has a high rate of student success. The Leiden Study System was developed to help students study faster and more effectively. They receive the optimum support while choosing which programme to study and during their studies themselves.
The Leiden Study System helps students choose the right programme. It also helps them study effectively and monitors their progress. The aim is to develop a pathway that reflects the student’s ambitions and abilities.
Eight steps
The Leiden Study System comprises eight steps (in Dutch), starting with the Studie Keuze Check, a tool that helps students choose the right programme. This is followed by introductory meetings, mentoring or tutoring, a study plan, meetings on the student’s progress and the Binding Study Advice (BSA). The study adviser is pivotal to the system.
