New Thesis Assessment Manual
For the assessment of theses, the Faculty has been using an online thesis assessment system for several years. Unfortunately, the experiences with this system are not always positive; the system has no user manual whatsoever. According to the Thesis Helpdesk, many of the frequently reported malfunctions, including when uploading theses and performing the plagiarism scan, can be prevented with the help of a few tips & tricks.
This is one of the reasons why a new Thesis Assessment Manual has been compiled, which includes a general description of the thesis assessment procedures, separate instructions for first and second assessors and a set of frequently asked questions (FAQ). The manual also includes a procedure for cases in which a third assessor is called in. However, this procedure is not supported by the online assessment system.
In addition to improving the manual, small improvements are also continuously being made to the system itself and bugs are being resolved that sometimes arise from earlier requests that have been implemented in the system.
Information about thesis assessment in general and about the online system, including the new manual with tips & tricks, can now be found on the ECOLe website.
