Important information about deadlines for book orders at the Law Library
Order deadlines for purchasing information sources
Requests for new information sources can be submitted at all times. To ensure that obligatory course materials for courses starting next semester are available on time, we kindly ask teaching staff to submit their requests for new (paper) course materials before 4 January. Note that we cannot always guarantee that an e-book will be delivered on time.
Any later requests will also be processed, but it is possible that the books will only become available after the start of lectures. In case of limited availability of a certain source, we recommend that you make the book available at the Law Library desk on request only. The book will then be available for one hour per request, during which time students can inspect, photocopy or scan the book.
New sources can be requested using the purchase request form. Please state on the form if the request is for obligatory course materials, the number of students on your course and if you prefer paper or an e-book.
Information skills training
The subject librarians at Leiden Law School are happy to provide training on information skills to students on all master’s programmes. As the start of the new semester is always very busy, we ask you to plan a moment for this training at least 2 weeks before the required date. To arrange this, please mail the subject librarian.
