Alternative demonstration in Leiden and The Hague against cuts has ended. Read the news article
Yesterday afternoon it was announced that the national demonstration in Utrecht against cuts in higher education would be cancelled due to safety concerns. For this reason, alternative demonstrations took place today in Leiden and The Hague. In Leiden, students, lecturers and staff gathered outside the Pieterskerk at 12.30. In The Hague, the demonstration took place in the Wijnhaven building.
The organisers reflect positively on the demonstrations. It has been announced in the Dutch House of Representatives that a new national demonstration will take place on 25 November.
