Facility
Middle Eastern Library and African Library soon to be accessible from Herta Mohr Building
Update 3 December
The doors were supposed to open on December 2: however during testing it was discovered that they do not function properly yet. It is not clear yet when you will be able to use the doors: further info will follow.
Soon it will be possible to access the Middle Eastern Library and African Library from the Herta Mohr Building. New entrance doors will be installed in the access lobby of the libraries on the ground floor of the Herta Mohr Building. These new doors will allow users to enter the libraries directly from the central hall, in addition to the walkway from the University Library. The entrance doors will only be accessible with a valid LU Card.
Entrance doors and accessibility
A total of five entrance doors will be installed, including one extra-wide door to provide easy access for staff and students with a disability. Anyone wishing to make use of this can apply for a special authorisation at the library desk in the Herta Mohr building. Push buttons will also be installed, so that the doors at each side of the access lobby can be opened automatically.
Opening hours and access
- During the library desk's opening hours (09:00 - 17:00), the Middle Eastern Library and African Library are accessible via the entrance doors from the central hall.
- Outside these hours, you can access the Middle Eastern Library and African Library on weekdays from 17.00 – 23.00 via the walkway from the University Library. On weekends, this access is available from 9.30 – 22.30.
Construction work in the Herta Mohr Building
