Green makeover for Gorlaeus Building courtyards: work in progress

This week, the contractor has started work on the courtyards between the BE-CE and CE-DE wings of the Gorlaeus Building. Until the end of December, heavy equipment, including excavators, will be used to rearrange the courtyards.

Starting from 18 November, concrete borders will be placed one metre from the façades. Following this, the ground will be levelled, and plants and trees will be added to give the courtyards a fresh, natural look.

The final result will include an 'alder courtyard' and a 'birch courtyard'. Once the courtyards are ready, a new path from the Rosalind Franklin Square to the Wassenaarseweg will also be constructed. Below is an impression of the final result:
