Organisation
Wanted: new Academic Coordinator for the Pre-PhD Programme
Leiden Law School is constantly evolving, both through its research and teaching and in terms of its organisation. For that reason, we are constantly on the lookout for people who are willing to take on specific tasks and responsibilities alongside or partly to replace their existing work activities. This helps the faculty progress and achieve its ambitions.
We are currently looking for someone to take on the role of Academic Coordinator for the Pre-PhD Programme (PPP).
Academic Coordinator for the PPP (0.2 FTE)
The Academic Coordinator operates at the interface between research policy and teaching. This position is for one day per week (0.2 FTE) on average and can easily be combined with teaching and research work. As the Academic Coordinator for the PPP, you will:
- inform master's students about the Pre-PhD Programme and its entry requirements;
- maintain contact with the Master’s Coordinators of the various master's programmes offered at our faculty;
- identify opportunities, options and potential areas for improvement within the PPP;
- act as a sparring partner for PPP students, e.g. for PhD proposal submissions;
- advise the Director of Research on research policy files;
- participate in and contribute to the work and mission of the Department of Research.
Profile
As the Academic Coordinator for the PPP, you:
- can clearly explain what a PhD position entails because you have obtained a doctorate;
- are passionate about teaching in addition to research;
- are the last to leave the lecture hall as one-to-one contact with students is one of your favourite aspects of teaching;
- do not shy away from giving constructive feedback.
This position is available at short notice (in November or December). The successful candidate will receive a proper handover.
Any questions? Interested in this position?
Feel free to contact the current Academic Coordinator for the PPP, Dr Michael Klos, if you have any questions. If you are interested in this position, please contact Professor Janine Ubink, Director of Research. Candidates must have permission from their Head of Department in advance before registering as a potential candidate.
