Staff in the Academy Building and Oude UB to upgrade to Windows 11
Microsoft support for Windows 10 will soon be ending. This means that all all university Windows workplaces need to be upgraded to Windows 11.
The ISSC is currently upgrading staff workplaces from Windows 10 to Windows 11. In the coming weeks, from 25 September to 31 October, the staff workplaces of the Administration and Central Services (Bestuursbureau), ASSC and Real Estate (Vastgoed) will be upgraded.
Make an appointment to upgrade your laptop to Windows 11
Please come to the Academy Building for the Windows 11 upgrade of your laptop between Wednesday 25 September and Thursday 31 October. You can book a time slot to hand in your laptop for the upgrade via this form. You are free to select a time that suits you.
Location of the upgrade: the Academy Building
The ISSC team is working in Academy Building (Academiegebouw), room C.102. The upgrade will take approximately two hours (this may vary per device). This applies to university managed Windows laptops. (If you use a desktop or a Macbook, then this invitation does not apply to you.)
- You will receive an e-mail with more information about the upgrade and what you will need to do in preparation.
- Please report to the reception at the reserved time in the porter’s lobby of the Academiegebouw. There, you will receive further assistance.
Prepare your laptop for the upgrade
Before your workplace can be upgraded, you will need to do a few things first, including securing locally stored files and settings.
- Transfer the data on your P-drive to your OneDrive. In Windows 11, your personal storage space will no longer be on your P- drive, but instead this will be on your personal OneDrive, (the cloud). - Make sure your C-drive data are also secured. This includes folders with browser bookmarks, your desktop, downloads and images. See the email for more information.
