Wanted: talented individuals for various positions at the faculty

29 August 2024

The faculty is constantly changing, both in terms of research and education and in terms of organisational structure. For that reason, we’re always on the lookout for people who are willing to take on specific tasks and responsibilities alongside or to replace their existing work activities. This allows the faculty to move forward and fulfil our ambitions.

We’re currently looking for talented individuals to fill the following administrative, coordinating and organisational roles at the faculty:

Programme Director for the bachelor’s programme in Law (0.4 FTE)
The Programme Director for the bachelor’s programme in Law ensures the quality and organisation of the teaching and education offered. They will do this under the supervision of the faculty’s Vice Dean. The Programme Director is also responsible for monitoring students’ study progress in general. Leiden Law School’s Programme Directors together form the Education Board, which is chaired by the Vice Dean. They draw up the faculty’s education policy. Of course, the new Programme Director for the bachelor’s programme in Law will also be closely involved in the implementation of the Kernvisie legal bachelor's degree programmes.

Faculty Coordinator(s) for Diversity & Inclusion (0.2- 0,4 FTE)
The faculty strives to be an inclusive community that empowers all students and staff to feel valued and respected and to fulfil their true potential. Our diversity of experiences and perspectives enriches our teaching and enhances our research and organisation. We are looking for one or more colleagues who want to work with us and coordinate with the university and other faculties to develop the theme of diversity and inclusion and embed it more strongly within our faculty.

Depending on the number of candidates and the number of hours the person or people concerned can work each week on the theme of diversity and inclusion, remuneration corresponding to the FTE is available from a budget earmarked for this purpose by the Executive Board.

Faculty Coordinator(s) for Student Well-being (0.2-0.4 FTE)
Student well-being is an important factor when it comes to successfully completing a degree programme. If a student’s well-being comes under pressure, this can negatively affect their academic results and how they develop personally and professionally. The faculty therefore attaches great importance to student well-being and is always looking for ways to improve student well-being. In this position – which could possibly be shared with another colleague – you will help us structurally embed the theme of student well-being within our faculty.

Depending on the number of candidates and the number of hours the person or people concerned can work each week on the theme of student well-being, remuneration corresponding to the FTE is available from a budget earmarked for this purpose by the Executive Board.

Interested or would you like more information?
For all the above positions, we are seeking colleagues who are open to innovations and willing to take responsibility to help the faculty move forward. There is, of course, room to agree on the number of hours for certain tasks, which is also important to note for the employee’s evaluation interview. In all cases, when filling these positions we will be happy to offer a custom solution if desired.

If you are interested or would like more information about one of these positions, please respond by 16 September 2024 by sending an email or calling the faculty’s Head of HR Gertia Knorr or board secretary Vera Versluis.
