Tip: read news articles for free in the Nexis Uni online newspaper archive
Want to read a specific newspaper article but discover it’s behind a paywall? The University Library offers access to a large number of digital and digitalised newspapers and databases. One of these is the online Nexis Uni news archive, which you as a Leiden University staff member can use for free access to articles from various regional, national and international newspapers and magazines.
Dutch national newspapers, for example, such as de Volkskrant, NRC, Trouw, het Algemeen Dagblad, het Parool and De Telegraaf, or magazines such as De Groene Amsterdammer and Elsevier Weekblad. You will also find foreign news sources through Nexis Uni including The Times, The New York Times and Le Monde as well as news magazines such as Fortune.
How to log in to Nexis Uni
Nexis Uni is easy for staff to access. Go to this page, click on ‘Nexis Uni’ (under the heading ‘Online Access - Full text availability’) and log in with your UCLN account. You are now in the online newspaper archive. To find an article, for example, enter all or part of the headline in the search bar.
