Opening of the new academic year: Faculty Talks on innovation

26 August 2024

On Tuesday 3 September, Leiden Law School will officially open the 2024-2025 academic year at the KOG Building. This year’s theme is ‘innovation’. As one of the university's core values, we will showcase innovation at the faculty in its teaching, research and organisation.

Faculty Talks
All staff members and student assistants are welcome at the KOG Building’s restaurant from 16.00 onwards. Following a word of welcome from Suzan Stoter, our Dean, three Faculty Talks will be held on a new stage, hosted by Hannah Saberi (former Assessor) and Roel Kwast (new Assessor). The event will close with a drinks reception at 17.00.

Around the stage
Come along to the KOG Building’s restaurant and usher in the 2024-2025 academic year with Suzan Stoter, Rogier Kegge, Elody Hutten, Dirk Visser and Gertia Knorr. The audience won’t  have to sit still (literally and figuratively): you can stand at the tables that will be scattered around the stage. Of course, there will be chairs available if you’d rather not stand for too long.

Prizes
During the drinks reception, the winners of the best tutorial teacher and best lecturer prizes will be announced. These two annual teaching prizes are awarded by JSVO (the collective chairs of the faculty study associations). The faculty’s Vice Dean, Jan Crijns, will also award a prize to the first-year student who obtained the best average grade in the previous academic year.
