New Academic Director at Institute for the Interdisciplinary Study of the Law
Simone van der Hof has expressed her desire to step down as Academic Director at the Institute. The Faculty Board is pleased to inform you that Bastiaan Rijpkema will be Simone’s successor. This decision was taken following a careful process involving a committee to explore options for the appointment and having consulted the Faculty Council. The Faculty Board is most grateful to Simone for all her efforts as Academic Director and her contribution to the Institute and the faculty in recent years. The Faculty Board also thanks her for the good working relationship we have enjoyed during this time.
Bastiaan’s appointment as Academic Director will commence on 1 September 2024. As a result, a successor will be sought for the position of Programme Director for the bachelor’s degree programme in Law. It will also be considered what these changes entail for Bastiaan’s involvement in the Taskforce Kernvisie Bachelor.
The Faculty Board looks forward to working together with Bastiaan in his new role.
