Ask students to fill in the NSE in your class
On 15 January, all Leiden University students received an invitation to participate in the National Student Survey (NSE). This important survey gives us invaluable feedback and allows us to assess our students’ satisfaction with various aspects of their degree programmes. We use the survey results to inform and recruit new students and constantly improve our teaching and facilities.
NSE 2024
Students have until 10 March to participate in the survey. They automatically receive participation links and reminders through their Umail accounts. Here at our faculty, we’ll also be drawing attention to the NSE during the campaign week from 12 to 16 February.
Measures to boost response
To obtain reliable information on how our programmes are doing, we need a high response from our students. For years now, Leiden Law School has achieved the lowest response rate to the NSE across Leiden University. So, the Faculty Board has decided to take the following steps this year to boost our response rate:
- Teaching staff are asked to allow students time to fill in the survey at their lecture or seminar. This could be 15 minutes before a break or at the beginning of a lecture. More information on this will be sent to teaching staff in early February.
- A number of incentives for participation (VVV vouchers) will be promoted among students. The survey participants will be entered in a prize draw.
The NSE helps improve the quality of our teaching
The quality of our programmes is constantly monitored by both internal and external experts. The NSE provides key input for these evaluations and helps us improve our rankings and degree programmes.
We need your help!
For the NSE to be a success, we need as many students as possible to participate in the survey. That’s why we would really appreciate your cooperation and enthusiasm about this campaign.
Thank you in advance for helping make the NSE 2024 a success.
