Join the University Emergency Response team!
Monday 6 November was Emergency Response Officers Day (in Dutch: BHV’ers). So take a moment to think how fortunate we are to have Emergency Response Officers who can help us in the event of an accident or calamity at the faculty. For many years now, Johan Sjoerdsma has been Leiden Law School’s BHV Coordinator. But his BHV team is always looking for new colleagues to join them. So if you’re interested, please get in touch with him – even if it’s just to find out what is involved.
Every new Emergency Response Officer starts with a training course (online and practical training). Then you have to do a minimum of six* training sessions, including: reanimation, how to dress wounds, fire extinguishing, and a workshop with an instructor. You’ll acquire valuable knowledge and skills that you can also use outside work.
Are you interested in hearing about the experiences of our BHV team and what it involves? Read the accounts of colleagues who were interviewed last year about being part of the BHV team at our faculty: Let’s meet the Faculty’s Emergency Response Officers
Would you like to get more information or sign up to become an Emergency Response Officer? Send an email to Johan Sjoerdsma: j.sjoerdsma@ufb.leidenuniv.nl
*After completing six training sessions, you are entitled to a gross bonus of €320
