Did you join a union in August or September? Then you may get up to 100 euros compensation
If you’ve become a member of a trade union for the first time in August of September 2023 you can get a contribution to your first year membership fees up to € 100,00. This ‘trade union contribution’ is part of the Trade Union Month and the new collective labor agreement for Dutch Universities 2023-2024.
How does it work?
You can apply for the trade union contribution until 15 November 2023 with this application form (you’ll also find it on the Service Portal). More information about the application process is available in the Helpdesk Portal Knowledge Item and the Other allowances page. Upon completion of your application the contribution will be paid out along with your December 2023 salary payment.
If you’re already a trade union member or when your membership didn’t start in either August or September, you are not eligible for the trade union contribution. You may however offset your union fees via the Terms of Employment Individual Choices Model.
Combining the contribution with the Individual Choices Model
Via the Terms of Employment Individual Choices Model you can offset your union fees against your end-of-year bonus. This can be done in combination with the trade union contribution. The amount you receive for the contribution however, will automatically be deducted from the amount to be offset.
See the Terms of Employment Individual Choices Model pages for more information.
