The themes for the Comenius programme 2024 had already been announced, and now calls for proposals have also been published on the NRO (Netherlands Initiative for Education Research) website. If you would like to apply for a Comenius grant for innovation and improvement of education, please prepare your application now!

Deadlines

The NRO's closing dates for statements of intent are 19 September 2023 for the Teaching Fellow grant, 12 September 2023 for the Senior Fellow grant and 14 September 2023 for the Leadership Fellow grant. More information about the procedure, themes and conditions can be found on the NRO website: Comeniusprogramma | NRO.

But please note: the internal deadline is earlier. The deadline for Senior Fellow applications and Leadership Fellow projects is 11 August. As each faculty is only allowed to propose one candidate for a Senior Fellow or Leadership Fellow grant, an internal selection process has to take place within the faculty. We therefore ask candidates for these grants to submit a proposal, on one A4, to Sanne Arens at s.arens@hum.leidenuniv.nl no later than 11 August for the faculty’s selection process.
