ISSC director Joop van der Born leaving Leiden University
Joop van der Born will be leaving Leiden University on 1 September, having worked there for five years. He will be starting work on the same date as Chief Technology Officer at the National Police. Joop currently works as Director of the ICT Shared Service Centre (ISSC).
His decision to leave the university was a ‘tough dilemma’, he says. ‘Because on the one hand, I still really enjoy my current job but on the other, this new one for the police is a fantastic new challenge for me. I still have mixed feelings to some extent but in the end opted for the police. I’ll really miss Leiden University and the many colleagues who have been such a pleasure to work with.’ In terms of ICT there is still much to do at the university but Joop is leaving in the knowledge that the ISSC is in safe hands with his colleagues there. ‘They and my successor will be able to bring the ISSC to the next stage of maturity.’
We would like to thank Joop for his time, commitment and dedication, and wish him every success with the National Police.
Recruitment of a new ISSC director will start soon.
