The Art Committee, together with the FB, is putting together an exhibition on Cleveringa and Meijers. The intention is for the exhibition to coincide with the Cleveringa lectures. It would be a fitting tribute to our wartime dean, Rudolph Cleveringa as well as to Eduard Meijers, a Jewish professor and direct colleague of Cleveringa and one of the founders of the new Civil Code. Approximately 40 lectures are given worldwide at the end of November each year in honour of and as a tribute to Cleveringa (and indirectly Meijers).

In recent years, we have received a large number of interesting books, photos, and objects from the families of both Cleveringa and Meijers. These items will naturally form part of the exhibition. But we also know that there are still plenty of books, paintings, photos, etc. by or about Cleveringa/Meijers to be found within our faculty. If you have more information about such items and/or would like to make them available for the exhibition, please e-mail us at m.blaauw@law.leidenuniv.nl before 1 August.
