It is with regret that we must inform you that our wonderful colleague Margreet Zandbergen passed away after a short period of illness. 

Margreet started in March 2022 as coordinator training, courses, and conferences at JPAO. In the short period that she has worked with us, she has endeared herself to everyone here. Always cheerful and with a big smile, immensely committed to her work and her colleagues. Margreet was a hard worker and someone to rely on. She managed to complete several projects with a good result and to the satisfaction of the different clients. 

She looked forward to working together with the team to get the Leiden Law Academy off the ground. Margreet thought in opportunities and saw a lot of possibilities to turn this into a great success. She wanted to be involved in the daily affairs of our department until the last moment. In her own words: ‘I am still a part of society.’

She really enjoyed life and liked to meet up with friends over good food and drinks. Margreet always talked full of enthusiasm and with a lot of details about the wonderful trips she had made. On the beach and out sailing was where Margreet was able to unwind. 

We will miss Margreet’s energy and all her ideas. We wish Margreet’s family a lot of strength and fortitude while dealing with this tremendous loss.
