Faculty board: Core Vision Bachelor’s Programmes Leiden Law School
In January 2023, our Faculty will start with the implementation of the Core Vision Bachelor’s Programmes Leiden Law School. Based on the midterm review of our law degree programmes, a core vision on education has been formulated for our bachelor’s programmes.
Futureproof
Over the past year, a committee under the leadership of Jan Adriaanse has been working on a plan to make our education futureproof, inclusive, and challenging. In November, our Faculty Board, with the support of the Faculty, has decided to embrace this core vision.
Strong identity
We are working towards creating bachelor’s programmes with a strong identity and a more interdisciplinary profile which offer students the possibility to actively obtain knowledge and develop skills at a high level. Complex societal issues and an extensive national and international labour market call for modern students who are aware of their surroundings and ready to go out into the world. It is also important to make sure that our lecturers and all those involved in our education take pleasure in their work.
Taskforce & workgroups
In the upcoming period, we will be working to implement the core vision. This process will take place in various stages and will take approximately two to three years. The implementation will be supervised by a taskforce and several workgroups under the management of Bastiaan Rijpkema.
Introduction
The taskforce will be happy to introduce themselves to you on 20 January. During the taskforce kick-off drinks in the Global Lounge you are welcome to meet the members of the taskforce. If you are interested in attending, you can register via a link on our Faculty website. You can expect to receive regular updates during the upcoming months and please feel free to contact us should you have any questions. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to developing this core vision during the past year. We, as Faculty Board, are looking forward to the implementation of this process that is so important to our Faculty with confidence and in the knowledge that we have the support of many within our Faculty.
