Unacceptable behaviour in organisations is nothing new, but it has recently become more topical than ever. The reported cases at The Voice of Holland, Ajax and other organisations have caused quite a stir. So it is appropriate that every organisation takes a good look at itself. And that includes Leiden University and its faculties.

For some time now, the University has been working on becoming a safer and more inclusive place to work. You can read about the steps we have taken to achieve a safe work environment here.

Our aim is to do everything we can together to prevent unacceptable behaviour at the workplace. However, if a situation does still arise, there is always someone staff members, PhD students or PhD supervisors can turn to.

To know who to contact, we would like to remind you of the workplace issues helpline. This tells you which confidential counsellor to contact for a specific situation.

It is important to us that you can work in a stimulating, positive and above all safe work environment. But we don’t always succeed. So if you have any issues at all, we would urge you to not wait too long before asking for advice.
