The University Services Department (in Dutch: Universitair Facilitair Bedrijf, UFB) provides facility services for the entire university, such as ordering catering and the reservation of rooms.

Communication

Zoom facilitates online teaching, one-to-one chat sessions that can expand into group discussions, training sessions and webinars for internal and external audiences.

Each degree programme has its own programme committee. This is a legal requirement. Students and lecturers sit on the programme committee. Together they monitor the quality of the teaching, flag up any problems and advise on the development and implementation of the teaching policy.

Honours education caters to the most talented and motivated students at Leiden University. Students receive honours education in addition to their regular bachelor’s or master’s programmes. Furthermore, honours education is available to pupils in the final two years of secondary school.

The Young Academy Leiden (YAL) is a select group of young academics at Leiden University. YAL serves as a platform to bring young, enthusiastic and driven early career (post-PhD) academics together.
